PREP TO BUY

Be careful with your money and job decisions and gather these documents:
  • Financial statements—W-2 or 1099 forms for two years
  • Profit and loss statement if you own a business
  • Recent paycheck stubs
  • List of assets
  • List of debts
  • Tax returns from last year and possibly two more
  • Your credit rating—above 620 is where you want to be to get the best interest rates

  • A title company will research the history of your property to make sure it can be legally purchased and they will hold all the funds and legal instruments as a neutral third-party
  • An inspection by a professional on the major parts of your home will ensure that your dream home doesn't turn into a nightmare
  • An appraiser will inspect your property and combine that with other data to determine if the buying price is justified
  • Two weeks before closing you will verify that your loan will go through

KEYS

We can't wait to say congratulations and put the keys to your dream home in your hand! Here are the final details that we will help you with:
  • One last inspection to make sure it's ready for you
  • Making sure you'll have electricity, hot water, internet and any home services you require
  • "Closing escrow" happens when the title company gives you a closing statement that lists all the legal and financial details of your purchase, you sign the final documents and the transaction is recorded at the County Assessor's Office.
